For filling:

1 dessertspoon olive oil

1 garlic clove, crushed

1 onion, finely chopped

500g beef mince

2 carrots, finely chopped

1 tablespoon tomato puree

1 (400g) tin chopped tomatoes

250ml beef stock

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

1/4 tsp dried herbs 


Make the pancakes using our Italian Pancakes recipe.

  • Heat the oil in a large saucepan and brown the garlic, onions and mince.
  • Add the carrots and celery and cook until tender.
  • Stir in the puree, stock, tomatoes and herbs. Cover and simmer for 40 minutes.
  • Strain the sauce and keep the liquid warm.
  • Stuff and roll the pancakes with the meat mixture and place into a greased dish.
  • Spoon the Bolognese sauce liquid over the pancakes and top with grated cheese of your choice.
  • Bake at 180 degrees for 25-30 minutes – or until the top is slightly browned and bubbling
